User Guide (7. Programming using PRGM-CS)
This time, we will give you an explanation of how to use the PRGM-CS to create your own program, an auxiliary program, one of three basic programs. Auxiliary programs, FS and CS can be used to create your own program in order to specify your roasting preferences for green coffee beans. PRGM-CS is not a roasting program but a program for user programming, therefore keep monitoring while it is being used. Neglecting may lead to burn off the bean or cause a fire. The program CS provides users with the opportunity to create and save their own programs. Users can create new program by setting the desired point and pressing the 'EJECT' button, while monitoring the roasting process and listening to the cracking sound. This program is a new and innovative solution to create the optimum program for the type and status of the green coffee beans. First, to use CS, prepare the green beans of 300~800cc in the measuring cup. After plugging into wall outlet, turn on the power switch; 'PRGM-01' will be automatically displayed in the TEXT window on the control panel. And then press the DOWN button to select 'PRGM-CS'. Press the START button; the 'chaff tray' indicator light on the control panel starts flickering, 'CLEAN' being displayed in the TEXT window. It means the chaff tray needs to be cleaned. The machine is programmed to display the message at the first operation after the power connection or every third operation. If you clean the chaff tray and install it again, 'CLEAN' in the TEXT window will be disappeared and changed to 'CS-PRHT'. And the DISPLAY window shows that fan and heater are being operated, indicating preheat is active. Preheating process runs until the temperature in the Temperature display reaches 165°C. The preheating time is displayed in blue in TIME display and it takes from 10 to 15 minutes depending on the room temperature, at the beginning of the cycle. During the preheating cycle, the drum repeats revolving only 10 seconds every 1 minute. When the temperature on the Temperature display reaches 165°C, the drum revolves repeatedly and 'ADD BEAN' is displayed in the TEXT window with the alarm sound. Please open the bean entrance hole cover and install the hopper at the bean entrance hole, and input green coffee bean in the measuring cup into the hopper. After input, return the hopper to its cradle and close the bean entrance hole cover again. If you dump green coffee beans into the roasting chamber, the temperature in the Temperature display falls continuously. CEROFFEE CRF-800 controls the heater by measuring the surface temperature of the coffee beans, so you can check the surface temperature of the coffee beans in real time during the roasting process. When the temperature falls, reaching 120°C or below, CEROFFEE CRF-800 recognizes the green coffee beans are dumped into the roasting chamber, entering first heating step. Now, 'ADD BEAN' is disappeared, 'CS-RP01' indicating first heating step, being displayed. In addition, the roasting time will be measured and displayed from CS-RP01 stage, in which roasting process starts. 'CS' means the number of program, RP01 indicating first heating step. When the temperature reaches 150°C or more, the roasting cycle goes through CS-RP02, the second heating step. At this point, the very first popping sounds of the first crack can be heard. The temperature at which beans emit the 'first crack' changes depending on the type and status of the green coffee beans, but the 'first crack' often occurs at CS-RP02. Beans emit a 'first cracking' sound much like popcorn does when it pops. If you press the ENTER button; '1 CRACK' is displayed. After a moment, CS-HD02 is displayed, getting into temperature-maintenance stage automatically. If the process goes on to the CS-HD02 automatically, without emitting first cracking sound in the CS-RP02 stage, you don't need to press ENTER button. The ENTER button for a 'first crack' is active in CS-RP02, not being active in the maintenance stage. CS-HD02 lasts for 1 minute and it goes on to CS-RP03 stage, the last heating step. Going through CS-RP02 stage, the second maintenance stage, now we've reached CS-RP03 stage. If the first crack occurs in the CS-RP02 stage, the second crack occurs in CS-RP03 stage. In distinction to the sound of the first crack, the second crack sounds like rice bubbles in milk. If you press the ENTER button; '2CRACK' is displayed and after a while CS-HD03 is displayed, entering the maintenance stage automatically. In the same way as the first crack, if it runs right into CS-HD03, without emitting the second cracking sound in the CS-RP03 stage, you don't need to press ENTER button. The ENTER button for 'second crack' is active only in CS-RP03, not being active in the maintenance stage, too. Now, you can let roasted coffee beans dump from the roasting chamber at the desired point by pressing 'EJECT' button while monitoring through viewport. If you press 'EJECT' button, 'EJECT' is displayed in the TEXT window with the alarm sound. Please open the door of the cooling chamber and shake the mesh container back and forth, so that dumped coffee beans will be evenly distributed in a uniform manner for a proper cooling. Actually, you are free to let roasted coffee beans dump from the roasting chamber. Because the roasting program up to the point when coffee beans are dumped is saved, you can save the program to that time by monitoring the process through viewport and press the “EJECT” button at desired point, even if second crack doesn't occur. When the discharging of the roasted coffee beans is complete, the roasting process goes on to the cooling process automatically, with 'COOLING' being displayed in the TEXT window. The cooling process goes on for 5 minutes. When the cooling process is closed, it goes on to the SAVE stage. If you press the CLEAR button, the cooling process is interrupted and right goes on to the SAVE stage. As the cooling process has been forced to be interrupted, the still hot roasted coffee beans need to be cooled by using fan or other equipment after pulling the mesh container of the cooling chamber. When the cooling process is complete; Program CS is displayed and SAVE indicator light starts flickering, asking you whether to save the current program. Press the CLEAR button not to save it or press the ENTER button to save it. Press the ENTER button, and the 'roasting strength adjusting indicator' will flicker. It allows you to adjust the roasting strength by monitoring the roasting status before completing new program by using PRGM-CS. If you want to increase the roasting strength after checking the current roasting status, press UP button to move it in the direction of DARKER, while if you want to decrease the roasting strength, press the DOWN button to move it in the direction of LIGHTER. One space (level) means 5 seconds, one space (level) in the direction of DARKER indicates that the roasted coffee beans are dumped from the roasting chamber 5 seconds after the existing defined time, while one space (level) in the direction of LIGHTER indicates that the roasted coffee beans are discharged from the roasting chamber 5 seconds before the current defined time. Now, you may change the roasting strength to the desired value or press ENTER button in home position. For example, you can set the roasted coffee beans to be dumped from the roasting chamber, 10 seconds before the existing defined time by moving it in the direction of LIGHTER. Press the ENTER button; the indicator light starts flickering to ask which number to select as the program number. Press the program number you want to select from no. 2 to no. 20 by using UP & DOWN key and then press ENTER button to complete saving of the program. Make sure not to select and save in the program number for which the program has been already created, to prevent the existing program from being overwritten. For example, if you have saved your own program in the program No. 2, select the other number and press the ENTER button. let's try selecting No. 3 and then your own roasting program using the program CS will be saved in the program No. 3. Now you have created your own program. You have only to select your own program number and press START button, to ensure a perfectly uniform roasting result. The adjustment of roasting strength can be used during the ongoing roasting process. But, if you select your own program and press ENTER button, the 'roasting strength Adjust (Gauge)' window will be displayed, allowing for easier access to change in the roasting strength. The next unit will provide information on how to perform a consecutive operation of smart Coffee Roaster, CEROFFEE CRF-800, being suitable for more professional users.

User Guide (6. Programming using PRGM-FS)
This time, we will give you an explanation of how to use the program FS to create your own program, an auxiliary program, one of three basic programs. Auxiliary programs, FS and CS can be used to create your own program in order to specify your roasting preferences for green coffee beans. PRGM-FS is not a roasting program but a program for user programming, therefore keep monitoring while it is being used. Neglecting may lead to burn off the bean or cause a fire. The PRGM-FS provides users with the opportunity to create and save their own programs. A program can be made by touching EJECT button when user’s favorite roasting color through viewport. First, to use FS, prepare the green beans in the measuring cup. After plugging into wall outlet, turn on the power switch; 'PRGM-01' will be automatically displayed in the TEXT window on the control panel. And then press the DOWN button to select 'PRGM-FS'. Press the START button; the 'chaff tray' indicator light on the control panel starts flickering, 'CLEAN' being displayed in the TEXT window. It means the chaff tray needs to be cleaned. It is programmed to be displayed at the first operation after the power connection or every third operation. If you clean the chaff tray and install it again, 'CLEAN' in the TEXT window will be disappeared and changed to 'FS-PRHT'. And the DISPLAY window shows that fan and heater are being operated, indicating preheat is active. Preheating process runs until the temperature in the Temperature display reaches 165°C. The preheating time is displayed in blue in TIME display and it takes from 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the room temperature at the beginning of the cycle. During the preheating cycle, the drum repeats revolving only 10 minutes every 1 minute. When the temperature on the Temperature display reaches 165°C, the drum revolves repeatedly and 'ADD BEAN' is displayed in the TEXT window with the alarm sound. Please open the bean entrance hole cover and install the hopper at the bean entrance hole, and input coffee green bean in the measuring cup into the hopper. After input, return the hopper to its cradle and close the bean entrance hole cover again. If you dump green coffee beans into the roasting chamber, the temperature in the Temperature display falls continuously. Ceroffee CRF-800 controls the heater by measuring the surface temperature of the coffee beans, so you can check the surface temperature of the coffee beans in real time, during the roasting process. When the temperature falls, reaching 120°C or below, CEROFFEE CRF-800 recognizes the green coffee beans are dumped into the roasting chamber, entering first heating step. Now, 'ADD BEAN' message disappears, and 'FS-RP01,' which indicates the first heating step, is displayed. In addition, the roasting time will be measured and displayed from FS-RP01 stage, in which roasting process starts. 'FS' means the number of program, RP01 indicating the first heating step. When the temperature reaches 150°C or more, the roasting cycle goes through FS-RP02, the second heating step, reaching FS-HD02, the second maintenance stage. In this way the cycle moves on to FS-RP03 and FS-HD03. In the program FS, users can let roasted coffee beans dump from the roasting chamber at the desired point by pressing 'EJECT' button while monitoring the color and status of the coffee beans through viewport during the roasting cycle. As the temperature rises, the roasting cycle goes through the first and second heating step, reaching FS-HD02, the second maintenance stage. At this point, the very first popping sounds of the First Crack can be heard. Going through the second maintenance stage, it enters FS-RP03, the last heating step. In this heating step, users can let roasted coffee beans dump from the roasting chamber at the desired point by pressing 'EJECT' button after monitoring through viewport during the roasting cycle, irrespectively of temperature maintenance stage. And then the roasting program up to then will be saved. If it doesn't reach the desired point, even while FS-RP03 goes on, please keep on waiting. In the last stage, FS-RP03, the machine is programmed to let the roasted coffee beans remain for about 60 seconds in the roasting chamber. In case you want to continue the roasting process even after the maintenance time of 60 seconds, you can extend this time in the TEXT window, 30 seconds before the end of the roasting cycle. 'ADD TIME' is displayed in the TEXT window with the alarm sound, 30 seconds before the end of the roasting cycle. Press the ENTER button to add 30 seconds. You can maintain it for 3 minutes by repeating this process total 6 times. And then please let roasted coffee beans discharged from the roasting chamber at the roasting status you want by touching the “EJECT” button. Once the roasted coffee beans are discharged into the mesh container, 'EJECT' is displayed in the TEXT window with the alarm sound. Please open the door of the cooling chamber and shake the mesh container back and forth, so that fallen coffee beans will be evenly distributed in a uniform manner for a proper cooling.   When the roasted coffee beans are completely discharged from the roasting chamber, the roasting process moves on to the cooling process automatically, 'COOLING' being displayed in the TEXT window. The cooling process goes on for 5 minutes. When the cooling process is closed, it moves on to the SAVE stage. If you press the CLEAR button, the cooling process is interrupted and moves on to the SAVE stage. For faster cooling, you may take out the mesh container after the discharging and during the cooling process, and cool the mesh container using a fan. In the SAVE stage, SAVE indicator light starts flickering with the alarm sound, asking you whether to save the current roasting status or not. Please press the CLEAR button not to save it, or press the ENTER button to save it. Let's try SAVE. Press the ENTER button, and the 'roasting strength adjusting indicator' will flicker. It allows you to adjust the roasting strength by monitoring the roasting status before completing new program by using FS. If you want to increase the roasting strength after checking the current roasting status, press UP button to move it in the direction of DARKER, while if you want to decrease the roasting strength, press the DOWN button to move it in the direction of LIGHTER. One space (level) means 5 seconds, one space (level) in the direction of DARKER indicating the roasted coffee beans are discharged from the roasting chamber, 5 seconds after the existing defined time, while one space (level) in the direction of LIGHTER indicating the roasted coffee beans are fallen from the roasting chamber, 5 seconds before the current defined time. When the change is complete, press the ENTER; the indicator light starts flickering to ask which number to select as the program number. Press the program number you want to select from PRGM 02 to PRGM 20 using UP & DOWN key and then press ENTER button to complete saving the program. Now, you have created your own program. You have only to select your own program number and press the START button, to ensure a perfectly uniform roasting result. Make sure the same amount of the green coffee beans are dumped into the roasting chamber when using PRGM-FS. If there is a considerable difference in the amount of green coffee beans, it may cause a slight difference in roasting strength. The adjustment of roasting strength can be used during the ongoing roasting process. But if you select your own program and press the ENTER button, the 'roasting strength adjusting indicator' will be displayed, allowing for easier access to change in the roasting strength. Next time, we will introduce you to the PRGM-CS, which is suitable for more professional users.

User Guide (5. How to use the basic program PRGM-01)
This section includes information on how to use the first of the three basic programs provided with the Smart Ceramic Coffee Roaster, CEROFFEE CRF-800. The first basic program (PRGM-01) provides users with a built-in roasting program, allowing users easier access to the entire roasting cycle from starting of the roasting, automatic discharge of the roasted beans to cooling. So, this program would be suitable for beginners. But since this program provides only the most typical roasting cycle, we recommend you make your own program using auxiliary programs provided with CEROFFEE CRF-800 to specify your roasting preferences for green coffee beans you selected. First, prepare 300-800cc of green coffee beans in a measuring cup. After plugging into wall outlet, turn on the power switch; 'PRGM-01' will be automatically displayed in the TEXT window on the control panel. If the number of other program is displayed, press the UP & DOWN buttons to select 'PRGM-01'. Press the START button; the 'chaff tray' indicator light on the control panel starts flickering, 'CLEAN' being displayed on the TEXT window. It means the chaff tray needs to be cleaned. It is programmed it will be displayed when you turn the machine on for the first time or every third operation. If you clean the chaff tray and reinstall it, 'CLEAN' in the TEXT window will disappear and change into '01-PRHT'. And the DISPLAY window shows that fan and heater are being operated, indicating preheat is active. Preheating process runs until the temperature in the Temperature display reaches 165°C. The preheating time is displayed and when the cycle starts first, it takes from 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the room temperature. During the preheating stage, the drum rotates for 10 seconds and then stays stopped for 50 seconds, which repeats in a cycle. When the temperature falls, reaching 120° or below, CEROFFEE CRF-800 recognizes that the green coffee beans are dumped into the roasting chamber, entering first heating step. Now, 'ADD BEAN' message is disappeared, and '01-RP01' indicating first heating step is displayed. In addition, the roasting time will be measured and displayed from 01-RP01 stage, in which roasting process starts. '01' means the number of program, RP01 indicating first heating step. As the temperature rises, the roasting cycle goes through 01-HD01, the first maintenance stage, reaching 01-RP02, the second heating step. And then, in this way the cycle moves on to 01-HD 02, the second maintenance stage, and 01-RP03. Finally, when it reaches 01-HD03, the coffee beans will be discharged from the roasting chamber automatically. You can see the roasting process reaches 01-RP02, the second heating step and 01-HD02, the second maintenance stage. Now, you can check the temperature is maintained, emitting first cracking sound. In the second maintenance stage, 01-HD02, the temperature is maintained for 1 minute and then enters the last heating step, 01-RP03. Going through the last heating step, 01-RP03, it moves on to the last maintenance stage, 01-HD03. In this stage, the machine is programmed to discharge the coffee beans after they remain in the roasting chamber for about 30 seconds. When beans are discharged from the chamber, 'EJECT' is displayed in the TEXT window with the alarm sound. Please open the door of the cooling chamber and shake the mesh container back and forth, so that discharged coffee beans will be evenly distributed in a uniform manner for a uniform cooling. When the roasted coffee beans are completely discharged from the roasting chamber, the roasting process moves on to the cooling process automatically, 'COOLING' being displayed. As you can see, during the cooling process, the red light of the heater turns off and blue light is still lit, indicating only fan is active. When the cooling process is complete, 'END' is displayed, indicating Program No. 1 is closed. It took 12 minutes and 53 seconds for the roasting Program No. 1 and the current inner temperature of drum is 109°C at the end of this roasting cycle. When the roasting process is completed, you have only to collect the roasted coffee beans in the mesh container of the cooling chamber. Now, we have given you an explanation of how to use the Program No. 1, one of those basic programs. Next time, we will introduce you to an auxiliary program, the program FS to make your own program.

User Guide (4. Drum cleaning and replacement)
Now, let me explain how to remove and reinstall the roasting drum and inner glass of Smart Ceramic Coffee Roaster, CEROFFEE CRF-800, when replacement and cleaning the drum or when heavy coffee buildup or oil residue accumulates on the glass after several months of steady use.   First, please take the chaff tray out after the roaster is completely cooled. And then put your finger into the groove in between 10 and 2 o'clock directions and pull it forward to tilt the viewport forward at a 90-degree angle. And then remove the five fixing bolts on the outside using a screwdriver or your hands. If you loosen all the five bolts, you can separate the viewport from the roaster. In this way, the inner glass frame can be easily removed to facilitate cleaning.   Please lift the roasting drum and tilt it forward lightly and draw it out to remove it easily. If there is any residue or chaffs in the roasting drum, empty it using vacuum cleaner. I recommend wiping the roasting drum.   After cleaning the roasting drum, place it into the roasting chamber by tilting it so that the temperature sensor is placed at the front part on the inner side of the drum, and then lay it down. Please make sure not to damage the temperature sensor attached to the inner sidewall of the drum. After holding it in place, please check if the drum rotates properly by turning it by hand. Improper placement can prevent the roasting drum from rotating properly.      If the drum doesn't rotate properly due to the improper placement, lift it up and then take it down again, shaking it from side to side to put in place properly. And then please turn it with your hands and check if it does rotate properly.     Place the cleaned inner glass on proper groove positions and fasten it with bolts using a screwdriver.    After returning the viewport in home position, please lift it up until it snaps into place and insert the separated chaff tray in home position.   Please make sure to dry the drum or the viewport thoroughly before reassembling. If not, it will cause the roaster to fail or break.   Next time, we will provide information on how to use the basic program.
